You can trace my heritage of collecting from my grandmother. She saved everything old post-it notes, plastic containers, freebies, McDonald toys, and more. Like most great collectors, she encouraged all of her children to collect because “it could be worth something someday”. This collection of spoons was gifted to me by my Aunt Carol. Saved for a number of years in a box hoping to accrue value. Silver-plated flatware like these Oneida spoons were mass produced in the early 1900’s. Exploring the aesthetics qualities of each individual object, I then created jewelry pieces. Every artwork has evidence of my hand as well as a small notion of what the object's previous life. In hopes of adding some of the value that my grandmother and aunt hoped these spoons would someday accumulate.
